The federal government has said it is working to bring the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO) exam times closer.
Education Minister Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba said on Monday as he spoke to the Presidential Task Force (PTF) for COVID-19.
“It takes six weeks to complete the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO) exams.
“We are working to bring the calendar closer.
“I have just finished a meeting with the representatives of WAEC and NABTEB and I understand how this worries our parents right now and how eager our children are to know what will be next,” said Nwajiuba.
In April this year, the Nigerian government indefinitely suspended the WAEC and NECO tests in an attempt to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
